Data Analysis: A Path to Fulfilling My Career Ambition

Introduction

I was so elated seeing that email from Resagratia that faithful morning for the internship role as a Teaching Assistant that I didn’t think twice before responding. As someone who studied statistics at the university level, I was too afraid to take up data analysis cause I felt I was not cut out for it but going through Resagratia, has been a wonderful experience that I will never forget. I discovered that I actually loved numbers and could combine data analysis with my experience as a digital marketer.

The Journey

I had just spent the last 4 months without a job after resigning from my last job as a social media manager and I was unsure of what to do next. I did believe, however, that I needed to upskill myself and I decided to get back into Data Analysis I had been running away from since my university days and this led to finding Resgratia on Twitter. I checked out their website cause I was concerned if they were real or not, well after my bootcamp experience and my internship experience, they are real and it's the best bootcamp to go through.

My experience during the bootcamp was mixed with several challenges, an unemployed individual struggling with data and Nigeria’s light situation were my mortal enemies but I kept at it and I would like to highlight that my first Resa challenge was where I knew I was really learning DATA ANALYTICS. It was tough initially but when I finally cracked it, I was so pleased then I got the feedback on the challenge and I knew I needed to do better so I put in more effort and I got better. This goes to show how beautifully crafted Resagratia Data Analytics bootcamp is to help you develop your skills and understand Data Analytics. I learnt analytics using Excel, Tableau, Power Bi, and SQL and I am still getting better at it.

Teaching Assistant Opportunity

I did feel bad that my sweet journey on Resagratia was ending after the bootcamp, I got a job as a digital marketer and settling in at the job, the opportunity came in an email as a teaching assistant on Resagratia and I was excited to be a part of something I went through and made me better so I was glad to contribute to it again.

My 3 months journey as a TA was one mixed with challenges and another round of learning, it was a beautiful experience being a part of the program and working and developing in the following areas;

Operations

I was introduced to the operations arm that ran the bootcamp which included sharing weekly trivia challenges for that week's learning track so the students put their minds to the test on the things they have learned during the week. This helped me during my time in the bootcamp and I believe students who put their mind to it would definitely find it useful.

Reporting

I also learned how to report as a true data analyst while utilizing my data analysis skills to build engaging charts and share engaging insights from the weekly activities.

Learning and Team Projects

My time as a TA opened me up to advancing my skill set in Data Science learning SQL, Machine learning with Python, and Big Query, unfortunately, I couldn’t maximize this opportunity completely but I am grateful for the opportunity. Another aspect that I enjoyed working on as a TA, was organizing team projects for the Data Analytics bootcamp and I was glad for the opportunity to assist the students with unknotting tight issues in solving their data project, which they did wonderfully well.

Finally, I believe in what is going on in Resagratia and I would like to add that their curriculum is the best you would ever go through better than any Youtube classes on the web.

So I will advise anyone out there, to take Resagratia bootcamp seriously. It is worth than gold.
