From Passion to Expertise: My Journey into Data

Introduction

My journey into data was born from a passion that I discovered during my Industrial Training (IT) back in school. Even though I had a glimpse of the world of data during that time, procrastination kept me from diving deeper and exploring its potential.

It wasn’t until 2024 that I decided to break free from the chains of laziness and take charge of my growth. This marked the beginning of an exciting, challenging, and rewarding journey into the world of data.

My Journey Into Data Analytics

In March 2024, I took a bold step and registered for the Resagratia Data Analytics Bootcamp, a decision that became the highlight of my year. Through this program, I gained hands-on experience with essential tools like Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and SQL. While it was quite challenging at the beginning, it gradually became easier with consistent practice and guidance.

One of the things that stood out to me about Resagratia was their structured and thoughtful learning process. The roadmap provided clear weekly goals, breaking down the journey into manageable steps. The mentor sessions at the end of each week allowed me to ask questions and address challenges, while the quizzes helped solidify what I had learned. I appreciated that I could learn at my own pace, which gave me the flexibility to balance my learning with other responsibilities.

The projects were a significant turning point for me. They pushed me out of my comfort zone, encouraging me to apply what I had learned to real-world scenarios. These experiences helped solidify my skills and gave me the confidence to take on more complex tasks.

I was so impressed by the Resagratia way of teaching that I enrolled in their Data Science Bootcamp in July 2024 to further my learning. This time, I delved into advanced tools like Advanced SQL, Google Sheets, BigQuery, and Python. The additional knowledge and skills I gained further enriched my journey and prepared me for more exciting opportunities in the field.

Key Achievements Since Learning Data Analytics

One of the most incredible moments of my journey came after completing the Data Science Bootcamp, I was offered an opportunity to join Resagratia as a Teaching Assistant. It was a great experience and undoubtedly one of the most amazing things that happened to me in 2024. I was thrilled to step into this role, where I gained hands-on experience as a data professional while also assisting new boot campers in their learning journeys.

Another highlight of my achievement has been acquiring a solid understanding of essential tools like Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, and more. These tools have equipped me to analyze, visualize, and interpret data effectively. Beyond the technical skills, this journey taught me the importance of putting myself out there and seizing opportunities. With my growing confidence and capabilities, also further expanding my horizons in the data field.

Encouragement To Beginners Starting Their Career in Data Analytics

If there’s one thing I’ve learned on this journey, it’s the power of taking action. My biggest advice to anyone starting out is: Don’t procrastinate. Take charge of your future and make the decision to learn that skill you’ve been putting off.

Once you begin, commit to being consistent. Progress may feel slow at times, but every small step you take adds up. Make time to learn, no matter how busy life gets, and stay eager to grow. Remember, the effort you put in today will open doors to opportunities you never imagined.
