Data Science Lead
Job Description
Lead the development and deployment of machine learning models for fraud detection and risk intelligence at Pastel, combining technical expertise with strategic oversight.
What you will be doing?
- Design, build, and train advanced ML models for fraud detection, risk scoring, anomaly detection, and customer behavior prediction
- Deploy and maintain models in production environments with real-time inference capabilities while monitoring performance and continuously optimizing
- Mentor junior data scientists, establish best practices in experimentation and model governance, and collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams
Who You Are
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or AI/ML Engineer with proven expertise in predictive modeling and production ML deployment
- Strong programming skills in Python and hands-on experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP)
- Familiar with real-time inference systems, distributed data systems (Kafka, Spark), MLOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow), and model explainability techniques
