I learnt hard skills in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and SQL. I was exposed to much needed soft skill in data visualization, communication, and insights presentation. I was taught how to look beyond the obvious.

My journey into the world of data analysis began with a simple, yet profound need: I wanted to handle the data analysis for my final year project on my own. As I delved into the intricacies of research data analysis using SPSS, I found myself fascinated by the field.
Despite my innate ability to get bored easily while learning new things, I was able to learn SPSS and Excel Basics on You
Tube without getting bored. This newfound interest led me to explore deeper into data analytics, and that's when I stumbled upon the Resagratia Bootcamp on Twitter.
I registered for the bootcamp, eager to broaden my knowledge. The first couple of weeks were intense, as I had to juggle my personal commitments in school with the coursework. However, the elaborate and well-detailed syllabus provided by Resagratia made it easier to follow up and stay on track. The structured approach and comprehensive materials were instrumental in helping me grasp the core concepts of data analytics.
Despite the initial challenges, my determination paid off, and I successfully completed the bootcamp after three months, in November. The sense of accomplishment was immense, as I had not only learned a lot but also applied the knowledge in various practical scenarios.
During the bootcamp, I learned to proficiently use several essential tools in data analysis, including Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization, Tableau to create interactive and shareable dashboards, Power BI for advanced data visualization and business intelligence and SQL to manage and query databases efficiently.
A few months after completing the bootcamp, I was thrilled to be interviewed for a teaching assistant position. This marked the beginning of another exciting chapter in my journey. Being a teaching assistant allowed me to assist new intakes, sharing my knowledge and helping them navigate the complexities of data analysis. Simultaneously, I continued to learn and grow, solidifying my understanding and gaining new insights.
In my role as a teaching assistant, I had the opportunity to further expand my skill set by learning: Google Sheets for collaborative data analysis and sharing, Python for advanced data analysis, scripting, and automation, and Advanced SQL for more complex database management and querying.
For those embarking on the journey of learning data analysis, or any new skill for that matter, here are a few pieces of advice:
1. Stay Persistent:
The initial phase of learning can be overwhelming, especially if you have other commitments. Stay persistent and keep pushing through the tough times. The rewards at the end are well worth the effort.
2. Leverage Resources:
Utilize all the resources available to you. Whether it's the structured syllabus of the bootcamp, online tutorials, or community forums, make the most of these tools to enhance your learning.
3. Practice Consistently:
Data analysis is a field where practice truly makes perfect. Regularly working on projects and real-world data sets will not only improve your skills but also boost your confidence.
In conclusion, my experience with the Resagratia Bootcamp has been transformative, leading me from a novice learner to a teaching assistant, constantly evolving and growing. For anyone on a similar path, remember that every challenge is an opportunity to learn, and with persistence, you can achieve your goals and beyond.
