I pushed to the finish line and by the end of 3 months, I had made noticeable progress in data analytics and dashboard design
Understanding the intersection of life and data has been an interesting journey. Also combining both work and learning was tasking. I'd prefer to call it life and learning.
While scrolling through LinkedIn, I came across a post by Tobi Williams, the CEO and Co-founder of Resagratia about the Data bootcamp. I scrolled past. Meanwhile, I was taking a course with Pharm Ezinne at VC Health Hub, and when I mentioned that I was interested in Data Analysis, she suggested I take the bootcamp. I quickly registered and waited for commencement.
It was an interesting journey; I began learning from the foundation, and my learning experience was often plagued by uncertainty, fear, and tears.
I pushed to the finishing line and by the end of 3 months, I had made noticeable progress. Deep down, I still craved more knowledge and practical application of everything I had learned. Then I received an exciting email!
I clicked on the email; it was an invitation to attend an interview for the position of a Teaching Assistant. I had mixed feelings, still wondering if I could handle the responsibility. It was about a week to the deadline when I decided that I would give it a try.
After the interview process, I received an email that I was accepted for the position. My heart was filled with mixed feelings, I wondered how the experience would be.
I braced up to learn and evolve. My journey was nothing short of beautiful and worth the time. Four things stood out for me:
The program came along with a rare opportunity to have close access to the founder and co-founder of Resagratia. I could easily reach out with my questions and get prompt responses.
The practical projects were a good opportunity to learn and unlearn. Each module had a project to test assimilation.
This was an integral part of my program. I was about to teach and mentor students in my cohort. I realized how much you can learn when you constantly have to teach and answer questions. It took me back to previous videos and a lot of research.
I had the opportunity to create content for the Resagratia YouTube channel. It was another new experience, and I learned a great way to create content.
Within this period, I relocated and got a place with a bad internet connection and an unstable light supply. This took a toll on my data journey and made it difficult to complete the Python classes and projects.
The learning curve is full of different phases. You need to brace yourself for the good, bad, and ugly. Don't embrace failure as your life but as a passing event. You have all it takes to be the best.
